Low-Cost Spay/Neuter for Cats and Small Dogs

People for Animals and the Edison Animal Shelter are sponsering low-cost spaying and neutering services for cats and small dogs.  The service includes: a pre-surgical exam, the spaying/neutering procedure, rabies and distemper vaccines, and antibiotics and pain medication given on site.  They also offer a protective collar for $5.
 
The service is available for all cats and for dogs weighing less than 25 pounds.  A carrier is required.  As of June 2009, the fees are:
 
Neuter of male cat - $50
Spay of female cat - $55
Neuter of small male dog - $55
Spay of small female dog - $65
 
Microchip implant, FELV/FIV testing, and nail clipping are also available for a fee.  Please call the Edison Animal Shelter at (732) 248-7278 for more information and to arrange an appointment.
